  • The Anycubic PEI Spring Steel Build Plate is the magnetic print surface used across the Anycubic Kobra series. It combines a flexible spring steel core with a high-temperature Polyetherimide (PEI) coating, engineered to provide strong first-layer adhesion during printing and effortless part removal once cooled.
  • Textured PEI Surface: The micro-textured coating leaves a fine matte finish on the bottom of prints while gripping molten plastic tightly at operating bed temperatures (60C – 100C).
  • Flex-to-Release Removal: Built on a spring steel alloy that snaps back into shape after bending. Once the bed cools down below 40C, most prints pop off naturally; stubborn models release easily with a quick flex of the plate.
  • Dual-Sided Usability: Replacement sheets feature PEI coating on both sides, allowing you to flip the plate if one side gets worn or scratched.
  • Magnetic Alignment: Designed to drop directly onto the heated bed's magnetic base plate with rear locating notches for alignment.

Technical Specifications

  • Surface Coating: Powder-coated Polyetherimide (PEI)
  • Core Material: High-tensile spring steel alloy
  • Compatible Filaments: PLA, PETG, ABS, TPU, ASA, Wood/Silk composites
  • Max Bed Temperature: Up to 110C without de-bonding
  • Part Removal Method: Thermal release + manual flex plate bending

Maintenance & Care Tips

  • Wipe Down Before Printing: Wipe the PEI surface with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and a lint-free microfiber cloth to remove finger oils, which are the #1 cause of first-layer lifting.
  • Avoid Metal Scrapers: Never use sharp metal scrapers or razor blades directly on PEI. Plastic scrapers are safe if a print needs gentle nudging.
  • Never Use Acetone: Avoid cleaning PEI with acetone or harsh chemical solvents, as acetone breaks down and degrades the PEI coating over time.
  • Always Wait for Cool-Down: Flexing the plate while it is still hot can strip or warp the PEI layer over long-term use.
